Genres Project

Welcome to our Genres wiki! Merriam-Webster defines "genre" as a "distinctive type or category of literary, artistic, or musical composition." Everyone can probably name their favorite R & B artist, or can name the title of a Country-Western song, but do you know much about book genres?  Our goal on this wiki is to learn more about what makes a suspense novel suspense, what author might I read if I knew I liked mysteries, where do I look for a good romance, etc. If you know you like mysteries and want to see what the GCHS Library might offer that others at our school have enjoyed, just link to the mysteries page.

If you'd like to add a book report, simply click the edit tab on the page you want to add to, then request to be added and after the administrator approves you, you can edit away. Remember not to give away TOO much information when you write about a book - you don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it. Please insert a horizontal line between books and it would be nice to keep the authors in alphabetical order to more easily navigate the page. Of course be sure to include your name (first initial/last name), book title, and book author.

You can also add comments to what others have written by scrolling down to the bottom of the page.

Please note that all images on this wiki (except for the one below) are public domain images.
